2. Set the remote control lever in the
NEUTRAL position.
The engine does not start unless the
remote control lever is set in the
NEUTRAL position.
3. Leave the fast idle lever in the
START (fully lowered) position.

4. Turn the engine switch key to the
START position and hold it there
until the engine starts.
When the engine starts, release the
key, allowing it to return to the ON
position.

• The starter motor consumes a
large amount of current. Do not
therefore run it continuously for
more than 5 seconds at a time. If
the engine does not start within 5
seconds, wait at least 10 seconds
before running the starter motor
again.
• Do not turn the engine switch key
to the START position while the
engine is running.
The ''Neutral Starting System''
prevents the engine from being
started unless the control lever is set
in the N (neutral) position even
though the engine is cranked by the
starting engine.
