In the preferable case of insulated (-) earth return, run a
2nd 35 or 50mm² (-) earth cable besides the (+) battery
cable, from the (-) pole of the electromotor of the HTL to
the (-) pole of the vehicle batteries. Follow the important
instructions from pg. 9 on the routing and protection of
electrical cables. [See Fig. 5.1 on previous page]
In the subordinate case of a chassis-mounted (-) earth
cable, run a 35 or 50mm² (-) earth cable from the (-) pole
of the electromotor of the HTL to the vehicle chassis. [See
Fig. 5.2]

Prior to connecting the mounting bolt to the chassis , it is
important that the chassis paint is thoroughly removed
from the contact surface, to enable firm electrical contact
between the cable eye of the (-) earth cable and the na-
ked chassis steel.
Apply sufficient anti-corrosive protection (zinc-
spray, Dinitrol...) to guarantee a long-lasting
earth connection.
