Important remark for all electrical connections!
When fitting (+) battery cables, (-) earth cables
and all other electrical cables, ensure that
these cannot be damaged, squeezed, heated
or melted by any of the fixed or moving parts of
the vehicle.
Ensure that the wiring doesn't interfere with, or
isn't connected or attached to the suspension,
the brake circuits, oil pipes and wiring circuits of
the vehicle. Observe sufficient distance be-
tween the electrical cables and the exhaust
pipe or other vehicle parts radiating heat.
Pull a flexible protective tube over the full length of all ca-
bles of the (+) battery and (-) earth circuits. Make sure this
conduit is suitable for automotive purposes. Class 1 tubing
(without marking) is suitable for general use, and sustains
a temperature of 85°C continuously, and 100°C peak.
For cables lying in the vicinity of the exhaust pipe, the
catalyser and pre-catalyser, the particle filter,... and other
vehicle components radiating heat, it is compulsory to use
class 2 tubing (marked white) over the full length. This
sustains a temperature of 100°C continuously, and 125°C
peak.
Tighten all electric connections thoroughly.
Loose & insufficient fitting can lead to bad con-
tact and overheating of the fuse, followed by
premature failing of the power circuit.
Apply a thick layer of anti-corrosive grease or
Vaseline to all electric connections. [See Fig.
