The LU1W controllers handle ventilation and wet resources supply in LU-VE ventilated heat exchangers, EMERITUS®
Adiabatic System, Spray System Evolution and Dry & Spray.
The new EMERITUS® series exchangers are innovative products that combine a double water-assisted heat exchange
system:
-
a pre-cooling of the inlet air through adiabatic panels
-
a spray system that sprays treated water directly onto the heat exchangers
The Adiabatic System and Spray System Evolution versions, simplified compared to the complete EMERITUS® version,
provide (respectively):
-
the single use of adiabatic panels
-
the single use of the spray system, divided into 4 sectors that each spray half the length of the exchanger on
only one of the two sides
Dry & Spray exchangers, finally, implement a spraying system arranged in parallel ramps (from one to three) along the
exchanger height; these wet the entire length of the machine on both sides.
The LU1W controllers have a considerable number of analogue and digital inputs and outputs that allow acquisition of
the exchanger status and working conditions, the user controls, and the consequent coordinated control of electronic
fans and actuators for efficient cooling and the execution of advanced functions.
The electronic fans, either EBM-PAPST or ZIEHL-ABEGG, are controlled via serial line with MODBUS RTU protocol; this
allows access to advanced fan features and information on fan status, instantaneous absorption and speed,
malfunctions in progress.
LU1W controllers are also equipped with:
•
a CAN bus port for connection to one or more user terminals equipped with LCD graphic display and 6-button
membrane keyboard
•
an internal memory, where the alarms that are occurring and resolved are recorded, and the main status
variables and operating conditions. The device can store information about the last 5 years of operation of
the exchanger
•
a USB port through which to manage the uploading of application software, device configuration, download
of stored data logs
•
an additional MODBUS RTU serial port and a MODBUS TCP/IP Ethernet port for optional connection to
external monitoring and remote-control systems.
The LU1W controllers are used inside the LU-VE electrical panels. Refer to the wiring diagram of the electrical panel
and the wiring diagram of the exchanger for all information regarding power supply and connections.
Attention: If the device needs to be replaced, restore the connections present in the original electrical panel.
Attention: All interventions on the electrical panel must be approved in advance by LU-VE. After each
intervention, the original operating conditions of the device must be restored.
