The line indicator LED on the front of the unit will light up and the unit will run an auto-test.
The auto-test lasts approximately 5 seconds, after which the "OUT" LED lights up and the
UPS supplies energy to the load connected to it. (Otherwise, see the section entitled
"Troubleshooting").
If the batteries are less than 80% charged, the BAT indicator will light up to inform
you that the batteries are recharging.
NOTE:
In order to switch the UPS off, you must press the two OFF buttons at the same time.
3.3.1 Installation and start up of battery housing
The entire UPS family (except Power Lan+ 750 and 1000 basic models) accommodate the
direct connection of external battery housings.
No prior knowledge is required to install the unit.
1. Unpack the battery housing following the same procedure as for the UPS units. For gre-
ater safety during transport and due to their weight, the tower version of the housing is
screwed to the pallet. Simply unscrew it for installation.
2. Install the battery housing next to the UPS. Note: Do not block the vent on the UPS or
the battery housing.
3. Confirm that the fuse (tower version) or the protection switch (rack version) on the bat-
tery housing is disconnected.
4. Screw the battery housing grounding wire to the UPS housing beside the battery con-
nector.
5. Connect the battery housing cable to the UPS unit (if connecting more than one battery
housing, connect the cable to the last battery unit).
6. Press the pre-connection button for 5 seconds. On the tower version, this button is loca-
ted on the rear panel while on the rack version it is on the front panel.
7. Connect the fuse for the tower version of the battery housing and close the magneto-
thermal protection on the rack version of the battery housing.
The recharging process is longer for battery housings.
