5.2 Optional SLOT COM Interface
The SLOT for advanced communications cards may be used with the ManageUPS NET
interface card, an SNMP hardware agent that makes it possible to connect the UPS to an
Ethernet and to control the unit remotely.
This interface includes Web and Telnet communication, in addition to the SNMP interface.
For more information, please consult the literature available on CHLORIDE's Connectivity
Solutions.
6. Maintenance
The UPS does not require any maintenance by the user. When the batteries wear out, they
must be replaced by an after sale service representative.
The typical lifetime of a battery is 4 years at a room temperature of 25 °C.
Check the unit's residual capacity regularly (once every 6 to 12 months) to ensure
that it satisfies the requirements of the application or protected load (see "Operating
Tests")
6.1 Storage
For long time storage in moderate climates, the batteries should be charged for 8 hours
every three months. In locations with higher temperatures, repeat every two months.
Connect the UPS to a grounded outlet following the instructions in the section enti-
tled "Installation and start-up" and turn on the unit.
After 8 hours, turn the unit off, unplug it from the mains and disassemble the UPS,
reversing the order described in the section entitled "Installation and Start-up".
Unplug the unit after 8 hours,
Note the charge date, preferably on the packaging.
6.2 Cleaning
Before cleaning, you should switch off the UPS and pull the plug out of the socket
after disconnecting the load.
Do not use scouring powder, aggressive detergents or spray cleaners to clean the UPS.
Be particularly careful not to block vents. Do not allow liquid to get inside the UPS. Clean the
outside of the UPS housing by wiping with a dry or damp cloth.
