6.7 Shortening the forearm
INFORMATION
Wrap the elbow area with plastic wrap to prevent swarf from entering it during cutting.
Complete the following steps to shorten the forearm:
1) Add 10 mm to the length that was determined and mark this on the forearm.
INFORMATION: The forearm length is measured from the distal end of the lamination ring to the
middle of the elbow axle.

6.8 Optional: Positioning the battery receptacle
Complete the following steps to position the battery receptacle:
1) Position the battery receptacle.
INFORMATION: Make sure the battery receptacle does not collide with the AFB flexion aid and elec
tric wrist rotator.
2) Connect the plug of the battery connecting cable to the circuit board of the AFB flexion aid.
6.9 Installing the AFB flexion aid
Complete the following steps to install the AFB flexion aid:
12K41, 12K42, 12K44, 12K50
2) Pull out the AFB flexion aid.
2) Shorten the forearm at the distal end to the patient's
individual dimensions (trim or grind).
INFORMATION: The minimum length of the
forearm must be 220 mm after shortening
(measured from the elbow axle).
3) Sand all sides of the cut edges at a right angle.
4) Deburr and slightly round the inside and outside
edges.
