Checking and adjusting the tension of the pump drive belt
FIG 17
REPLACING THE PUMP DRIVE BELT
(etrol sweeper)
Proceed as follows to replace the pump drive belt:
– Lift the hood;
– From inside the filter container, undo the screws which fix the fan centering conveyor 9 (fig. 15);
– Slacken off bolts, fig. 17 (fig. 17);
– Slacken off nut 13 and slacken off adjuster bolt 14, (fig. 17);
– Slide the pump mounting bracket 12 (fig. 17) towards the motor;
– Remove belt 10 (fig. 17);
– Insert the new belt over the suction fan and pump pulley.
!
WARNING! Take this opportunity to examine the condition of the brush drive belt 3, (fig. 15) and the dynamo belt 1 (fig. 17a). Fit a new belt if any wear is
visible to avoid having to repeat the same operations later.
– Tension belt 10 (fig. 17), (see the section checking and adjusting the tension of the pump drive belt);
– Refit the conveyor 9 (Fig. 15) and low the hood.
Dynamo drive belt tension
FIG.17 A
(petrol sweeper)
Every 40 hours work check the tension of the belt 10, fig. 17 which drives the pump.
Proceed as follows to tension the belt if it is too slack:
– Slacken off the bolts, fig. 17 fixing the pump to its mounting bracket 12 (fig. 17).
– Slacken off nut 13 (fig. 17).
– Slacken off adjuster bolt 14 and slide the mounting bracket forwards to increase the tension of belt
10 (fig. 17).
– Re-tighten nut 13 (fig. 17) and bolts.
!
WARNING! Do not overtighten the belt. Excess tension can damage the pulley
bearings.
(petrol sweeper)
Every 40 working hours, check the dynamo drive belt 1 (fig. 17a). If the belt is slack, stetch it by
proceeding as follows:
– Undo the lock-nut 2 (fig. 17a);
– Screw in the nut 3 (fig. 17a) and the dynamo unit will move, stretching the belt 1.
!
WARNING! Do not overtighten the belt. Excess tension can damage the pulley bearings
Changing the dynamo driv belt
(petrol sweeper)
Proceed as descirbed in the «replacing the pump drive belt» section and stretch the belt as explained
in the previous point «dynamo drive belt tension».
!
WARNING! Do not overtighten the belt. Excess tension can damage the pulley bearings.
When the belt is replaced, the belts 10 (fig. 17) and 3 (fig. 15) should also be checked.
