OPERATION
Starting the Engine
NOTICE: Operating the vehicle immediately after starting could cause engine
damage. Allow the engine to warm up for several minutes before
operating.
1. Position the vehicle on a level
surface.
2. Place the transmission in PARK
(or neutral).
Tip: The starter interlock will prevent the
engine from starting if the
transmission is in gear and the brake is not engaged.
3. Sit on the vehicle.
4. Apply the brakes.
5. Move the engine stop switch to RUN.
6. Do not press the throttle while starting the engine.
7. Turn the ignition key past the PARKING
LIGHTS ON position to engage the
starter. Activate the starter for a
maximum of five seconds, releasing the
key when the engine starts.
8. If the engine does not start, release the
starter and wait five seconds.
9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 until the engine
starts.
Stopping the Engine
1. Apply the brakes to stop the vehicle.
2. Place the transmission in PARK.
3. Turn the ignition key to the STOP (OFF) position or press the
engine stop switch down to stop the engine.
