Tests to verify the function of the Overspeed Governor and Safety Gear
GB
Move the carriage to a safe and convenient position on the rail to carry out the work.
Ensure there are no trapping hazards adjacent to the OSG whilst the
carriage is moving and the Safety Pad is removed.
Using a suitable tool, (suggest screwdriver minimum length 100mm or 4"),
gently lift the OSG actuating arm whilst driving the stairlift in a downward
direction via the ECU mounted carriage controls buttons Fig 2, until the OSG
switch cuts out the stairlift.
Check Diagnostics fault code display (9–1 A-6) to prove switch disconnection.
To reset the OSG, hand-wind the stairlift upwards, using a ¼ inch drive socket
on the motor hand winding shaft until the OSG cam plate can be seen to spring
back into its travel position Fig 1.
To reset the ECU, switch the rear mounted carriage switch off and then on.
Drive the stairlift up about 500mm to completely reset the OSG.
On completion of the work, test the complete operation of the stairlift.
