FM Notes:
1.
The Intrinsic Safety Entity concept allows the interconnection of two Intrinsically safe devices Approved by
FM Approvals with entity parameters not specifically examined in combination as a system when:
Uo or Voc or Vt ≤ Vmax, Io or Isc or It ≤ Imax, Ca or Co ≥ Ci + Ccable, La or Lo ≥ Li + Lcable, Po ≤ Pi.
2.
Dust-tight conduit seal must be used when installed in Class II and Class III environments.
3.
Control equipment connected to the Associated Apparatus must not use or generate more than 250 Vrms or Vdc.
4.
Installation should be in accordance with ANSI/ISA RP12.06.01"Installation of Intrinsically Safe Systems
for Hazardous (Classified) Locations" and the National Electrical Code® (ANSI/NFPA 70) Sections 504 and 505.
5.
The configuration of associated Apparatus must be FM Approved under Entity Concept.
6.
Associated Apparatus manufacturers installation drawing must be followed when installing this equipment.
7.
No revision to drawing without prior Approval by FM Approvals.
8.
The enclosure must be bonded.
9.
Nonincendive wiring concept: The Nonincendive wiring concept allows the interconnection of devices with
Nonincendive wiring parameters: Vmax = 30V, Ci =22 nF, Li =53 µH
10.
Nonincendive wiring parameters: Voc or Vt ≤ Vmax, Ca or Co ≥ Ci + Ccable, La or Lo ≥ Li + Lcable.
11.
The configuration of Associated Nonincendive Field Wiring Apparatus must be FM Approved under
Nonincendive wiring concept.
12.
Associated Nonincendive Field Wiring Apparatus manufacturers installation drawing must be followed when
installing this equipment.
