3. Adjusting the amount of oil

(1) Adjusting the amount of oil supplied to the face plate parts
WARNING :
The sewing machine is running at a high speed. Be extremely careful about the operation of the
machine when adjusting the amount of oil to avoid personal injuries,
• Checking the amount of oil
Position to confi rm the amount of oil (oil splashes)

* When performing the operation of 2) below, remove needle thread from the thread take-up lever to needle and
bobbin thread. Then be careful to check the machine with the presser foot lifted.
1) If the machine has not been suffi ciently warmed up for operation, make the machine run idle for approximately three
minutes. (Moderate intermittent operation)
2) Place the amount of oil (oil splashes) confi rmation paper under the hook while the sewing machine is in operation.
(Section A in the direction of the arrow mark ( → ))
3) Confi rm that the height of the oil surface in the oil reservoir is within the range between "H" and "L".
4) Confi rmation of the amount of oil should be completed in ten seconds. (Check the period of time with a watch.)

WARNING :
To protect against possible personal injury due to abrupt start of the machine, be sure to start the
following work after turning the power off and ascertaining that the motor is at rest.

* Use any paper available regardless of the material.
1) The sample shown in the fi gure on the left side is the
amount of oil adjusted at the time of delivery. Check
the amount of oil before using the machine and re-
adjust the amount of oil appropriately according to the
condition of use. (If the oil amount is inadequate, the
frame can be seized (the frame becomes hot). If the
oil amount is excessive, the sewing product can be
stained with oil (oil leaks))
2) Adjust the amount of oil so that the amount of oil
(oil splashes) should not change while checking the
amount of oil three times (on the three sheets of pa-
per).
1) Adjust the amount of oil supplied to the thread take-up
and needle bar crank 2 by turning adjust pin 1 .
2) The minimum amount of oil is reached when marker
dot A is brought close to needle bar crank 2 by turn-
ing the adjust pin in direction B .
3) The maximum amount of oil is reached when marker
dot A is brought to the position just opposite from the
needle bar crank by turning the adjust pin in direction C .
