II.11.2.3 Restoring compressor oil level
In models 120÷154, checking the correct oil level can be verified using
the oil warning light. In the 262 model the correct oil level is guaranteed
by the intervention of the oil level sensor;
When the unit is stopped, the oil level in the compressors must partially
cover the warning glass placed on the fixed compressor. The level is
not always constant since it depends on the ambient temperature, the
fraction of refrigerant in solution in the oil and the speed of rotation of
the compressor (in the case of an inverter compressor).
With the unit on and in near nominal conditions, the oil level should be
clearly visible through the sight-glass on the level matching tube and
must be flat without any ripples.
Any integration of the oil (due to the intervention of the oil sensor for
model 262) or of a low level in the oil warning light (for models 120 ÷
154) can be done after having performed the vacuuming of the
compressors, using the socket pressure located on the suction. For the
quantity and type of oil, refer to the adhesive plate of the compressor.
To perform the oil replenishing operation, contact the HITECSA service
center.
II.11.2.4 Repairing and replacing components
 Always refer to the electrical diagrams attached to the machine, if a
powered is to be replaced, identifying every conductor that must be
disconnected in order to prevent errors during future wiring.
 When the machine is started up again, always go through the
recommended start-up procedure.
 After maintenance has been performed on the unit, the liquid-
humidity indicator (LUE) must be under control. After at least 12 hours
of operation of the machine, the cooling circuit must be completely
"dry", with green color of the LUE, otherwise the dehydrating filter must
be replaced.
II.11.2.5 Replacing the dryer filter
To replace the dryer filters, carry out the depletion and the elimination
of humidity from the refrigeration circuit of the unit thus evacuating also
the refrigerant dissolved in the oil.
Once the filter has been replaced, re-vacuum the circuit to eliminate any
traces of uncondensable gases that can be entered during the
replacement operation. It is advisable to check that there are no gas
leaks before restarting the machine for normal working.
II.11.2.6 Instructions on how to drain the cooling
circuit
In order to drain the cooling circuit completely by means of type-
approved devices, drain the refrigerant from both the high and low-
pressure sides and in the liquid line. Use the load connections in every
section of the circuit.
In order to drain the refrigerant fluid completely all the circuit lines must
be drained. The fluid must not be discharged into the atmosphere as it
causes pollution. It should be recovered in suitable cylinders and
delivered to a company authorised for the collection.
II.11.2.7 Eliminating circuit humidity
If during the operation of the machine there is evidence of humidity in
the refrigerant circuits, it is essential to drain the circuit completely of
refrigerant and eliminate the cause of the problem. To remove all the
humidity, the operator must dry out the circuit by evacuating it to 70 Pa,
and then proceed to recharge it with the gas charge indicated in the
plate located on the unit.

II.11.2.8 Draining the water system
The system can be drained from the relief valve on the water inlet pipe.
Make sure the hydraulic circuit is completely emptied by opening all the
manual relief valves inside the unit.
SAFEGUARD THE ENVIRONMENT!
If the system has an antifreeze additive, it must not
be drained freely, because it causes pollution. It
should be collected for possible recycling. The
filling valve must not be opened in the presence of
glycol water.

II.11.3 DECOMMISSIONING

IMPORTANT!
If the unit is not used during the winter period, the
water contained in the system may freeze.
When the machine is out of use for long periods of time, it is necessary
to disconnect it from the mains by opening the master switch. All the
water contained in the circuit must be drained in time. During
installation, consider mixing the water in the circuit with the correct
proportion of ethylene glycol to guarantee protection against freezing
(see Protecting the unit from frost).

II.11.4 RESTART AFTER PROLONGED SHUTDOWN

Before starting up again, make sure that:
 there is no air in the hydraulic system (bleed it if required);
 water in the heat exchanger is circulating in the required amount.
 the air side heat exchanger is well ventilated and clean.
II.12 INSTRUCTIONS TO DISMANTLE THE UNIT AND
DISPOSE OF HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES
SAFEGUARD THE ENVIRONMENT!
HITECSA has always been sensitive to protecting
the environment. When the unit is dismantled it is
important to adhere scrupulously to the following
procedures.
The unit must only be dismantled by a firm authorised for the disposal
of scrap machinery/products.
The unit as a whole is composed of materials considered as secondary
raw materials and the following conditions must be observed:
 the compressor oil must be removed, recovered and delivered to a
body authorized to collect waste oil;
 if the appliance contains antifreeze, this should not just be disposed
of freely, as it causes pollution. It should be collected for possible
recycling;
 refrigerant fluid should not be discharged into the atmosphere. It
should instead be recovered by means of homologated devices, stored
in suitable cylinders and delivered to a company authorised for the
collection;
 the filter-drier and electronic components (electrolytic condensers)
are considered special waste, and must be delivered to a body
authorized to collect such items;
 the foamed polyurethane rubber and foamed polyethylene mesh
pipe insulation, the shrink-wrap, the polystyrene packaging and the
sound-absorbent sponge lining on the panelling must be removed and
processed as urban waste.
This symbol means that this product must not be disposed of
with household waste. Properly dispose of the unit according to local
laws and regulations. When the unit reaches the end of its useful life,
contact the local authorities for information on disposal and recycling, or
ask HITECSA to collect the used equipment free of charge.
Separate collection and recycling of the product at the time of disposal
will help conserve natural resources and ensure that the unit is recycled
properly to safeguard human health and the environment.
Inside the electronic device there are lithium batteries. Dispose in
compliance with the national or local legislation in force in your country.
