the Hand in either direction (approx. 360°) until you feel slight resistance (Fig. 4). Once you overcome the
resistance, the Hand will disconnect from the wrist.
1.3 Locking the quick-disconnect wrist
Insert the Hand's quick-disconnect wrist into the lamination ring and firmly press it in. Next, turn the System
Electric Hand slightly to the left or right. The pressure activates the locking mechanism and anchors the Hand
to the lamination ring.
Make sure the Hand or Greifer is properly attached before picking anything up.

1.4 Rechargeable batteries

Only a fully charged Ottobock battery should be used to operate the System Electric Hand.
An intelligent "battery manager" alerts you to low voltage conditions: The Hand will grow slower and the grip
force will decrease.
We recommend that you operate the System Electric Hand with the 757B20 or 757B21 EnergyPack or
757B35=* MyoEnergy Integral, in order to be able to take advantage of the Hand's full capacity over an
extended period of time. The Hand can also be operated with the 757B15 X-ChangePack, but this will result
in capacity restrictions.
For detailed instructions on care of the battery, please refer to the instructions for use included with the bat-
tery. To recharge the batteries, use only the Ottobock Battery Chargers mentioned in the instructions for use.
Attention!
As soon as the DMC plus or the Digital Twin electronic system recognises a fully charged 757B20/757B21
EnergyPack or 757B35=* MyoEnergy Integral, it automatically switches to Li-Ion battery technology. Once
this has happened, only this technology should be used to operate the system. If a 757B15 X-ChangePack
is employed after the control has switched to Li-Ion battery technology, the battery can not be used to its
full capacity. The 757T13 Ottobock MyoSelect can be used, however, to reset the System Hand control
for use with X-ChangePack or Interchangeable Battery.
For operational safety and reliability, only 757B20, 757B21, 757B15 or 757B35=* batteries are to be used.
As delivered, the System Electric Hand's default setting is optimised for for NiMH Batteries.
2 Repair/maintenance
If the System Electric Hand is not in use, it should be left in the open position to protect the sensor and mechanism.
Instructions for care of the prosthetic glove are enclosed with the glove. For further information, please contact
your prosthetist.
3 Additional information for patients with a System Electric Hand with Dynamic Mode
Control Plus*
Your prosthetist may choose from two different control modes by inserting or removing a function plug from
the System Electric Hand with DMC plus.
3.1 DMC Control Mode: function plug attached.
Grip speed and grip force are determined by the strength of the muscle signal. As soon as the strength of the
muscle signal changes, grip speed and grip force immediately and proportionally adapt to the new muscle
signal. The gripping process is much more natural, and makes it easier to gently grip small or fragile objects.
3.2 DMC plus Control Mode: function plug not attached.
Grip speed and grip force are determined by the strength of the muscle signal. As soon as the strength of the
muscle signal changes, grip speed and grip force immediately and proportionally adapt to the new muscle
signal. After gripping once with maximum force, the EMG signal required to open the Hand will be set to a
higher value. This reduces the risk of the Hand opening due to unintentional muscle contraction.
* Dynamic Mode Control plus is a proportional control system using microcontroller technology.
