The door cannot be opened
from any of the dwellings.
Check that the connection strap between the audio control unit and the camera is correctly connected.
Verify correct configuration of the street panel (micro-switches of the audio control unit).
Check that the installed cable complies with the following technical specifications: 75 ohm impedance
coaxial cable or cat. 5 100 ohm impedance twisted pair cable.
Revise the connection of the video cable and check that the position of the jumpers in the bases of
the monitors and camera is correct in accordance to the type of cable that is employed.
Revise that the video signal distributors are adequate for the cable that is employed and that they are
correctly fed (with the monitor turned on there should be 12Vdc between bushing insulators 14-M or
14-2 of the distributor itself). Also verify that each monitor does not feed more than three distributors at
the same time.
Check that the video cable is correctly connected in the input and output bushing insulators of the audio
control unit, this depending on the type of installation.
Disconnect the street panels video cable and meter resistance between the two terminals of the cable
itself: There should be 75 (±5) ohms for the coaxial cable; and 100 (±5) ohms for the twisted pair cable.
If this measurement is not correct, then one of the following cases may arise:
That resistance is infinite (open circuit) or zero ohms (short-circuit): Verify the connections and
state of the cable. We recommend that the installation be disconnected per spans to locate the
problem.
That resistance is lower than that indicated. Make sure that all resistances from the distributors are
turned off, with the exception of the last one.
That resistance is greater than that indicated: Check that the video cable complies with the minimum
required specifications: 75 ohm coaxial or cat. 5 twisted pair.
If all above-outlined verifications are correct, then the camera might be broken.
