SYSTEM MAINTENANCE

W A R N I N G
Inspect and test the system condition and operation every 6 months (more frequently in heavy-use applications).
Conduct routine visual inspections of power cord along its entire length to ensure no abrasions, nicks or cuts exist
that could result in risk of electric shock.
Follow the below procedure to ensure long life of your pump head/motor assembly:
Step 1
Ensure all persons are removed from the water.
Step 2
Disconnect electrical power.
a) Turn off power to the pump at the fuse box.
b) Install the lock-out device at the power source.
c) Disconnect the power cord from the outdoor-rated and grounded receptacle.
Step 3
Lift and remove the pump/motor assembly from the float and move the unit to the shore.
a) Disconnect the lanyard to detach the power cord from the float (Figure 2).
b) Lift pump/motor assembly vertically up and remove from float.
c) Take pump/motor assembly to the shore for maintenance. Leave float anchored/moored in the water.
Step 4
nspect, clean, and remove any build-up on the motor (motor shown in Figure 2).
I
a) Remove all build-up on motor. Note the motor is water-lubricated and cooled as water moves along the outer
surface of the motor (there is no water circulation internal to the motor), so it's important to motor life to keep
this outer surface clean.
b) Motor is sealed. NO SEAL OR FLUID MAINTENANCE IS REQUIRED.
c) There are no user-serviceable parts within the motor. DO NOT TAMPER WITH THE MOTOR OR DISASSEMBLE THE MOTOR.
SUCH TAMPERING WILL BE EVIDENT AND WILL VOID THE WARRANTY.
Step 5
Inspect, clean, and remove any build-up in the Aeration Pump Head (Figures 4 and 5).
a) The propeller pump nozzle (Figure 2) is held in place by two screws. Loosen the screws just enough to be able to turn
the nozzle counter-clockwise and slide off of the throat.
b) Access to the flow straightener and propeller is now possible and will permit the removal of any foreign debris.
c) Reinstall in the reverse order of removal and torque screws to 50 in-lb.
d) Visually inspect the propeller for wear at least two times a year.
e) Replace the propeller if any wear is indicated, as propeller wear can promote premature motor failure.
Refer to the Replacement Parts section.

is disconnected from the power source before attempting to install, service or remove any
component. If the power disconnect is out-of-sight, lock it in the open position and tag it to
prevent unexpected application of power.
