V. SET UP & USE OF YOUR WHEELCHAIR
H. Extension Tubes
1. Adjustment
a. Remove mounting fasteners from each side of the hanger tube.
b. Slide footrest extension tube to the desired height.
c. Line up holes and reassemble fasteners in desired hole through hanger and extension
tube.
d. Follow same procedure on opposite side (Fig. 9).
At the lowest point, footrests should be AT LEAST 2 ½ INCHES (6.35 cm) off the ground. If set
too low, they may "catch" on obstacles you would expect to find in normal use. This may cause
the chair to stop suddenly and tip forward.
WARNING: Avoid tripping or falling when you transfer. Ensure your feet do not get caught in the
space between the footrests and avoid putting weight on the footrests as the chair may tip
forward. A trip or fall could result in serious injury.
