3.5.1.1 Span Calibration (Cont.)
When SPAN displays, press Yes to initiate Span
Calibration, or No to go to Linearity Calibration.
The display flashes while the zero reading is
taken.
The display flashes the default maximum weight
for the specific model. Press No to select an
alternate calibration weight. Span calibration
weight values are shown in Section 5.4.
Put the indicated calibration mass on the pan
and press Yes to calibrate.
The display flashes BUSY.
When calibration is complete, DONE is displayed.
Remove the weight from the pan.
The balance returns to the currently selected
mode.
3.5.1.2 Linearity Calibration
Linearity Calibration is an advanced method used to reset the balance's weighing
range using three weight values:
• zero
• a weight value at or near the midpoint of the balance's weighing range
• a weight at or near the specified capacity of the balance.
Linearity calibration is required if testing shows that the linearity error exceeds the
Linearity tolerance in the Specification table.
To perform Linearity Calibration:
With the balance turned off, press and hold On
until MENU is displayed, then release the button.
