Adjusting the support roller forces before start-up
IMPORTANT Depending on the vehicle specification and battery fittings, 0, 1 or 2 lock nuts
(spring A (2), spring B (3)) must be removed from the connecting rod for the
support rollers (see table) prior to first use.
Qw W
Removing the lock nuts as indicated in the table will optimize the settings of
the support roller springs for the vehicle specification and battery fittings. If
the nuts are not removed, optimum lateral stability cannot be assured and the
steering forces will be higher than necessary.
Once the support roller forces have been adapted to the size of the battery being used
(battery weight), the vehicle must not be operated with a battery of a lighter weight,
as the driving wheel would then lack sufficient traction. Braking would not be assured.
IMPORTANT Once the lock nuts have been removed as described above, only
appropriately trained service personnel are permitted to make adjustments or
changes to the support roller springs.
