Surrey evaporator and condenser units are designed to offer a safe and reliable service
when operated within the project specifications. However, due to the pressure of the
system, electric components and moving of the unit, some installation, start-up and
maintenance aspects of this equipment shall be observed.
Only Surrey's accredited installers and mechanics shall install, start-up and service this
equipment.
When working on the equipment, observe all the warnings of the unit labels, follow all
the applicable safety rules, and wear protective apparel and equipments.
THINK OF SAFETY!
Never place your hand inside the unit when the fan is operating.
Protect the discharge of the unit centrifugal fan from non-authorized people
access.
Turn off the power supply before working on the unit. Remove the fuses and take
them with you in order to prevent accidents. Leave a warning indicating the unit
is operating.
REMEMBER
1.
Keep the fire extinguisher near the job site. Check the fire extinguisher periodically
to ensure it is fully charged and operating properly.
2.
Learn how to handle the oxyacetylene equipment safely. Leave the equipment in the
vertical position inside the car and also at the job site.
3.
Use dry nitrogen to pressurize and check if there are leaks in the system. Always use
a good throttle. Take care not to exceed 250 psig of test pressure in the hermetic
compressors.
4.
Wear safety goggles and gloves when removing the refrigerant of the system.
a) Respect the piling limits indicated in the unit packaging.
b) Do not let ropes, chains or other equipment touch the unit.
c) Do not swing the unit during transportation, nor tilt it more than 15º in relation to
the vertical position.
To prevent damages during the transportation and moving, do not remove the
unit package until you arrive at the definitive installation site.
Carefully lift and position the equipment on the floor.
Check the weights and dimensions of the units to be sure its moving devices can
bear a safe handling. (Refer to the Positioning on the Site and General
Characteristics Items).
