5.5 Position of the safety labels
The safety labels indicate potential hazards which may cause severe accidents. Carefully read
the instructions on the safety labels as well as the safety precautions.
6.PREPARATIONS FOR THE START-UP
You are responsible for your own safety. A low expenditure of time to check and prepare the
equipment before their start-up considerably reduces the risk of injury.
Carefully read this manual and ensure that you have understood it. You must be aware of the
purposes of the controls and know how to use them.
Make yourself familiar with the pump and how it operates before starting to pump. You must
know what to do in the case of an emergency.
Identify exactly what you will pump. This pump was exclusively developed for pumping water
which is not used for human consumption.
6.1Connecting the suction pipe (A2.(16))
Use a sturdy or flexible pipe as well as commercially available connections. If a suction hose is
used, it should have a durable structure and should not be bent. The hose must have a
sufficient length and may not exceed the maximum suction capacity of the pump. In this case,
the pump achieves its optimum performance if not placed too far from the surface of the water
supply. The duration of the self-suction depends on the length of the hose for the water supply.
The filter which meets the requirements of the water pump must be attached with a fastening
clamp to the end of the hose for the water supply.
CAUTION!
Before starting the pump, the filter must be securely attached to the end of the hose for the
water supply. The filter holds back all contaminations which block the correct flow of the water
and may cause damage to the drive.
Properly install the connections of the hose as well as the fastening clamp in order to avoid air
leaks and a drop off in the performance of the pump. A loose hose for the water supply limits
the water pump's performance. Loose or less solid connections of the hose for the water supply
reduce the performance of the water pump and the unlimited suction capacity.
6.2 Connecting the drain pipe
Use sturdy or flexible pipes as well as commercially available connections. A short hose with a
large diameter is recommended. A very long hose with a small diameter increases the
resistance on the water flow and reduces the performance of the pump.
NOTE
Securely tighten the fastening clamps of the hose in order to avoid that the hose falls off
under high pressure or becomes loose.
6.3 Checking the oil level in the motor caution
Quality motor oil is one of the most important engine performance, length of service and
equipment life factors. Do not apply any dirty motor oil or vegetable oil. Be sure to check the
oil level with the engine off and without any inclination.
Use oil 4-stroke equivalent quality engine oils SF, SG API. Oil velocity varies with the average
