A good fulguration waveform may spark to the tissue with a negligible cut effect, because long sparks
disperse more heat and the warming effect is intermittent. Water temperature inside cells does not increase
sufficiently to cause an explosion by generated steam. That way, cells are slowly dehydrated without
producing incision. High power peaks of coagulation waveform may cause current to circulate through very
high resistances. That way, it is possible to fulgurate for a long time, even after having been fully eliminated
from tissue, and really carbonize it. It is interesting to note that the term coagulation is used to indicate both
desiccation and fulguration. The main difference between fulguration and desiccation is that the former
always produces necrosis, depending on the density of current used. Fulguration is always more efficient
to produce necrosis and generally requires only one fifth of current required for desiccation.

Mixed Cut (Blend)
Similar to fulguration, Blend waveform consists of sine wave packets. The difference is that such packets
have a longer duration. Blend waveform produces a cut with haemostatic effect, that is, incision walls are
more fulgurated depending on the size and diameter of electrode. The thinner the electrode, the smoother
is the cut (less fulgurated).
SS-200E has 03 levels of Blend. Blend 1 has a minimum haemostatic effect, Blend 2 has a moderate
haemostatic effect, and Blend 3 has a maximum haemostatic effect.
