APPENDIX D: ENABLING EMAIL NOTIFICATION
This system has the ability to automatically send email notifications when an event is detected (i.e.
motion event).
NOTE: These instructions rely on the Lorex DDNS email server to send out email notifications.
If you wish to enable email notification using your own custom email server settings, see
"E-MAIL" on page 70.
To configure email notifications you must:
1. Connect your system to the internet.
2. Enter your email information in the NETWORK>E-MAIL section
3. Select the users who will receive email notifications in the USER>USER MANAGEMENT
section.
4. Select the type of events you want to trigger email notifications in the
EVENT/SENSOR>E-MAIL NOTIFICATION section.
Step 1: Connect Your System to the Internet
1. Connect an ethernet cable to the NETWORK port on the rear panel of your system.
• Connect the other end of the ethernet cable into a router with internet access.
2. Ensure that DHCP is enabled on your system (default):
a. Click the SETUP button (
b. Click SYSTEM SETUP.
c. Click NETWORK.
• The Network window opens.
d. Beside DHCP, make sure the checkbox is selected.
e. Click APPLY to save your settings.
f. Restart your system.
