SYSTEM TIPS
Default System Password
• The default system password is 1234.
• The password may be required when entering menus, reviewing recorded data, archiving, PTZ
and for remote access. For details on changing the default password, see "User" on page 66.
Setting The System Time
• Inaccurate video timestamps render your surveillance footage ineffective as evidence. Adjust
the system time when you first set up the system, or when a power outage occurs.
• For instructions on setting the time, see "Setting the Time" on page 37.
Accessing the System's Network Information
To retrieve your DVR's IP address, MAC address, and vital system information:
• Press the RETURN button on the front panel of the system.
• Press the RETURN or INFO button on the remote control.
You must be in the main viewing mode, and exit from all system menus or playback mode.
NOTE:
Configuring Remote Connectivity
• If you experience difficulties accessing your system remotely, press the Return button on the
remote control or the RETURN button on the front panel to display the System Information
window. The IP ADDRESS SHOULD NOT BE 127.0.0.1. If it is, your system network settings are
not correct. Please see the Network section of this manual for details.
Listening to Audio in Playback mode
• To listen to audio in playback mode, make sure to maximize the selected channel to full screen.
Audio will not play when playback is in split screen mode.
Editing System Settings
• When editing system settings, note the color of the highlight box. When the highlight box is
GREEN, it indicates that the option is available for editing.
