PRECAUTIONS
B
THINGS TO DO
Refer to the safety instructions in the instruction manual of the compressor.
NOT
THINGS
TO DO
Refer to the safety instructions in the instruction manual of the compressor.
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
Refer to the safety instructions in the instruction manual of the compressor.
2
ASSEMBLY
Refer to photos of the components (sections A-E) and of the mounting
kits, section F.
2.1
GETTING STARTED (SEC. A)-Pag. 20, 28
• Remove the motor pulley, the belt guard A1 and the A2 brackets (fig. 1)
• Add the cable gland A3 (4 hp), A4 (5.5 hp), A5 (7.5 hp) on the motor
connection box A6 (fig. 2), for subsequent electric fan wiring.
In the case of machines with star-Delta start-up, refer to the STAR/DELTA
MACHINERY, par. 2.5.
PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS ON VERTICAL TANKS
2.2
(SEC. B) - Pag. 21, 28
In the case of Retrofit Kit assembled on vertical tanks, you must change
the position of the pressure switch, moving it from the middle position by
shifting it to the right side, before assembling the retrofit Kit.
• Remove the pressure switch 5 from the central position, removing its
connections (fig. 3).
• Assemble the pressure switch 5 and stretche B4 on B1-B2-B3 (fig. 4a).
• Assemble the pressure switch and fittings sideways (fig. 4b, 4c).
• Remove the motor pulley, the belt guard A1 and the A2 brackets.
• Proceed to assemble the Retrofit Kit (Sec. C).
2.3
RETROFIT KIT ASSEMBLY (SEC. C) - Pag. 21, 29
In the case of compressors with tank 500 lt. the air hose 13 (fig. 5) must be
removed before proceeding.
It will have to be reassembled once the installation of the retrofit panel is
completed (see RETROFIT ASSEMBLY, par. 2.3).
BRACKETS ASSEMBLY
• Unscrew the two bolts on the outside of the base of the pumping unit (only
versions 5.5 and 7.5 hp) (fig. 6a).
• Insert the bracket C1 under the top of the tank (fig. 6a), using the two
screws of the pumping unit for fixing (only with versions 5.5 and 7.5
hp). For versions with 4 hp power, use the side holes for fitting (fig.
6b, 6c).
• Insert the Sound damping Panel C3 below the top of the tank, without using
glue (fig. 6d).
• Insert the bracket C2 under the top base of the tank (fig. 7a), motor side,
using the lateral holes for fitting (fig. 7b).
Do not unscrew the motor support screws.
In the case of assembly on vertical tanks, pay attention to the
positioning of the flexible hoses (figs. 8a, 8b).
RETROFIT ASSEMBLY
• Use lifting straps and eyebolts approved for use to lift the retrofit panel C5
(fig. 9a) in the positions indicated.
• Fasten the retrofit panel C5 on the brackets C1 and C2. Use the fixing
holes for this purpose (figs. 9b, 9c, 9d)
• Reassemble the air delivery hose 13 (only version with 500 lt. tank),
(figures. 10a, 10b) after having assembled on the the mounting bracket
C8 on the tank (figg. 10c,10d).
• Close the bottom of the retrofit panel, using the rear cover C6 (figures.
11a, 11b)
• Connect the cooling fan (Sect. (D)
• Apply the sound damping panel C7 within the front panel C4 (only for the
versions with 5.5 hp) (figg. 12a, 12b, 12c)
Assembly and instruction manual
Preserve this handbook for future reference
• Assemble the front panel C4 (fig. 13).

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

2.4
(SEC. D) - Pag. 23, 32
Refer to the wiring diagrams of the machine (see chapter 7) before carrying
out wiring of the electric fan D3 to the fuse box D1/D2. (fig. 14) and to the
terminal block A6.
• Perform the appropriate type of wiring, depending on the power supply
voltage of the machine and the electric fan (figures 15a, 15b,15c).
STAR/DELTA STARTER MACHINERY
2.5
(Sez. E) - Pag. 23, 33
In the case of compressors with tank 500 lt. air hose 13 (fig. 5) must be
removed before proceeding.
It will have to be reassembled once installation of the retrofit panel is
complete (see RETROFIT ASSEMBLY).
• Assemble the brackets C1 and C2, as shown in the chapter RETROFIT
BRACKETS ASSEMBLY.
RETROFIT ASSEMBLY (1)
• Use lifting straps and eyebolts approved for use to lift the retrofit panel C5
(fig. 9a) in the positions indicated.
• Fasten the retrofit panel C5 on the brackets C1 and C2. Use the fixing
holes for this purpose (figures. 9b, 9c, 9d)
• Reassemble the air delivery hose 13 (only version with 500 lt. tank),
(figures 10a, 10b) after having assembled on the the mounting bracket C8
on the tank (figures. 10c, 10d).
• Close the bottom of the retrofit panel, using the rear cover C6 (figures 11a,
11b).
ELECTRIC FAN CONNECTION
• Disconnect the three Starter cables.
• Disassemble a rear cable gland and fit the cable gland A3 (4 hp), A4 (hp
5.5), or A5 (7.5 hp) (fig. 16a).
• Reconnect the three starter cables (fig. 16b).
• Connect the cooling fan (red + earth terminals) according to the wiring
diagram (fig. 7) see chapter 7 ELECTRIC WIRING).
SOLENOID VALVE ASSEMBLY
Pay attention to the different assembly of solenoid valve 12 in the case of
retrofit kit installation on machines with star/delta starters, on 300 lt. or 500
lt. tanks.
• In the case of Retrofit Kit installation on machines with star/delta starters
and 500 lt. tanks, the position of the solenoid valve 12 remains external to
the Retrofit Kit (figures. 18a, 18b, 18c).
• Assembly of the solenoid valve 12, in the case of assembly of the Retrofit
Kit on a 300 lt. tank, is carried out as follows.
- Fasten the bracket E1 to the front of the motor support-pumping unit (fig.
19).
- Assemble the solenoid valve 12 on bracket E1 (fig. 20).
RETROFIT ASSEMBLY (2)
• Apply sound damping panel C7 within the front panel C4 (only for the
versions with 5.5 hp)
• Assemble the front panel C4 (fig. 13).
3
AVVIAMENTO ED UTILIZZO
• Refer to the instruction manual of the compressor.
4
SERBATOIO DELL'ARIA (SU UNITÀ MONTATE SU SERBATOIO)
Scrupulously and carefully read the information provided in the compressor
instruction manual on the coatings, mandatory ranges of drain and the
controls to be carried out by a competent body.
Carefully follow directions, tasks and frequencies in the instruction
manual of the compressor.
