4.3. Installation and fastening

Due the high own weight and its load cycle momentum in operation, bladder accumulators require a secure
fixation with fastening elements which do not cause any additional tension on the vessel.
WARNING: A bladder accumulator shall not be solely supported at the tube connection, as in case
of a failing connection no secure hold of the body is guaranteed.
DANGER: Welding for direct and indirect fixation of the bladder accumulator is not permitted.
The preferred installation of bladder accumulator should be via one or more mounting clamps, in vertical
orientated position, if necessary supported by a bracket.
WARNING: The pressure relief of the bladder and the fluid tubing must be ensured before starting
work.
The most important steps in the installation of bladder accumulators are:
•
Mounting of the fastening elements at the appointed location.
•
Remove the protective cap at the fluid port connection and clean the port
thread.
•
Lifting the bladder accumulator by means of a lifting device and straps with
sufficient lifting capacity and ensuring a stable state of equilibrium of the
accumulator during transport.
•
Position the bladder accumulator at the fluid connection on the system side
or place the accumulator on the console. Keep the accumulator secured in
the lifting device.
•
Coaxial alignment of the fluid port to the onsite line connection.
•
Screw the bladder accumulator completely at the end of the on-site line by
successively relieving the lifting device. Subsequently tighten the connection.
Respectively screw the pipe thread into the accumulator port and tighten the
connection with the fluid port locked at the same time.
•
The specified tightening torque of the locknut must not be permanently modified when the fluid port to line
connection is applied.
•
Check and correct if necessary the clamp alignment and finally fix the accumulator without applying
additional tension on the vessel.
•
Completely release the bladder accumulator from the lifting device.
