MAINTENANCE BY THE USER

Before cleaning and other maintenance of the
Curapuls 670, first switch off the unit and disconnect
it from the mains supply.
The control panel and the housing can be cleaned
with a damp cloth. The electrodes can be disinfected
with a cloth moistened with 70% alcohol. The elec-
trodes must not be sterilized by exposure to steam
(autoclaving) or gas.
Check the electrodes and electrode cables regularly
for damage and poor contacts. Damaged electrodes
or electrode cables must not be used. The length of
the cable is of critical importance. For this reason,
only use cables supplied for the purpose by Enraf-
Nonius.
End life span apparatus and accessories
Your Curapuls and accessories contains materials
which can be recycled and/or are noxious for the
environment. At the end of the duration of life, spe-
cialised concerns can take apart these articles and
sort out the noxious materials and materials for re-
cycling. By doing so you contribute to a better en-
vironment.
Please ensure that you are well informed of the
local rules and regulations regarding to the re-
moval of apparatus and accessories.

Self-test
Immediately after switching on, the unit auto-
matically carries out a self-test in which the built-in
microprocessor checks a number of vital functions
of the equipment.
After the self-test, the information screen appears
which states the software and language version. In
case of a fault you can not remedie yourself, please
mention these data to the service department.
If a fault condition is detected during the self-test or
during treatment, this will be signalled on the dis-
play, and the equipment will cease to function.
A fault condition can occur as the result of external
factors, such as an interruption of the mains supply.
In such cases, the fault condition can be cleared by
switching the unit off and on again. After switching
on, the unit carries out another self-test after which,
if the vital functions are found to be in order, the unit
is again ready for use.
If the Curapuls 670 does not function correctly, or at
all, the following can be checked to possibly trace
the fault.
Display does not light up
• Check that the mains plug is correctly inserted in
the wall socket.
• Check the mains supply to the wall socket.
• Check the fuses in the mains output and replace
if necessary.
Treatment cannot be started
• Check that the treatment time has been set.
• Check that an electrode has been connected.
• Try another cable or electrode.
If these checks do not reveal the cause of the fault
condition, the unit is probably defective. In this case,
please contact your Enraf-Nonius authorized supplier.
Replacing fuses
Defective fuses can be replaced by the user. Switch
off the unit. Remove the mains plug from the wall
socket, and remove the mains connector from the
input socket. Unscrew the fuse holder, e.g. using a
coin. Replace the defective fuse with one of the same
type (T6.3H250V). Screw in the fuse holder until it is
finger-tight, and reconnect the mains cable.
Opening of the equipment and attempts at repair by
unauthorized persons can adversely affect the safety
of the equipment and are therefore not permitted. In
such cases Enraf-Nonius reserve the right to cancel
the manufacturer's guarantee.
