Configuration.

The Cebora SOUND TIG ROBOT Welding System can be equipped or not with Wire Feeder Unit, based
on plant specifications.
The Wire Feeder Unit has the "motor control" board that communicates with the
"control" board of the Power Source and the Control Panel, via CAN bus
communication line.
When Welding System is without Wire Feeder Unit, the CAN bus communication
line towards the Wire Feeder Unit remains not connected, connector BS free. For
corrected operation, such line must be "loaded" with a terminating resistor of 120
ohm. This operation is carried out through the switches BU and BV located on the
Power Source rear panel. The same situation as far as the Interface Robot:
 Without Wire Feeder Unit, connector BS free = switch BV in OFF position.
 With Wire Feeder Unit, connector BS connected = switch BV in ON position.
 In manual (without Robot), connector BT free = switch BU in OFF position.
 With Robot, connector BT connected = switch BU in ON position.
2.3

Firmware upgrade.

The Cebora SOUND TIG ROBOT Welding System is controlled by microprocessor-based circuits, which
manage the operative functions of the Welding System and the operator interface.
GB
Each System component, Power Source, Control Panel, and when present, Feeder Unit contains a
microprocessor circuit, which not only manages the functions of the unit to which it belongs, but also
communicates one each other via CAN bus serial line.
Based on this architecture, the following units may be identified:
 MASTER microprocessor, in the Power Source micro board;
 PANEL microprocessor, in the Control Panel micro board.
Each microprocessor is programmed with a different program, which must obviously be compatible with
those of the other microprocessors. To make it easier to enter and upgrade these programs, a single-access
system is provided, the BO connector on the front panel of the Power Source, which allows the
microprocessors to be programmed in a single programming session. With this step the programs are
simultaneously entered into the microprocessors, each automatically in its place.
The updated MASTER and PANEL programs are grouped together in a single programming file,
recognizable from the extension ".ceb", available from the Cebora Web site www.cebora.it.
For theirs use is necessary to download and to install in the computer the "Cebora Device Manager"
program, available in Cebora Web site www.cebora,it. With such program it is possible to record in the
computer the files relative to "firmware Cebora" (programs downloadable from the Cebora site) and to
insert them in the machines that have to be programmed or updated.
The "Cebora Device Manager" user instructions are enclosed to the program.
The version of the inserted programs, is visible during start-up in the Control Panel, in the following
form:
 display O = "PAn"; display U = "03_" = version 03 of PANEL program.
 display O = "MSt"; display U = "04_" = version 04 of MASTER program.
Starting from versions "2.3.1" of the "Cebora Device Manager", "01" of the Power Source art. 366
Firmware, "01" of the Power Source art. 367 Firmware, "01" of the Power Source art. 368 Firmware, also
the Firmware of Wire Feeder Unit and Robot Interface can be updated with the same procedure.
With the Wire Feeder Unit and Robot Interface connected to the Power Source, through the connector BO
on the front panel of the Power Source is possible to update the Wire Feeder Unit and/or Robot Interface
programs using the same instructions valid for the Power Source and Control Panel programs.
The Firmware for Wire Feeder Unit and Robot Interface is available from the Cebora Web site
www.cebora.it.
