Connections and wiring

6.1

Power supply

The KC-M20 may only be supplied using the power adapter included in the
scope of delivery (in the control cabinet) using the DC-In jack.
The primary supply of the power adapter is the responsibility of the respec-
tive electrician (power cord not included in the scope of delivery).
The power adapter is to be used in environments with contamination no
greater than contamination level 2 (as per EN 61010-1). All safety instruc-
tions and information from the power adapter manufacturer must be ob-
served.
Information
Contamination level 2, description according to standard EN 61010-1:
Usually only non-conductive contamination appears; however, temporary
conductivity caused by condensation must be expected on occasion.
6.2

USB port

The USB interface is used for connecting exchangeable media (e.g. as part
of maintenance work) or peripheral devices (e.g. keyboard, mouse, etc.).
Information
The USB interface is not designed as an operational interface for ongoing
operations. It is used exclusively in the service and startup event for con-
necting USB devices.
Connecting a USB component
To connect, proceed as follows:
1) Open the protective dust cap (optional).
2) Insert the USB component so that it engages.
The USB component is recognized and displayed by the operating system.
Removing a USB component
Information
If there is an ongoing process of saving to the USB component, it cannot be
disconnected during the saving process! This may otherwise result in loss
of data.
