2.5.2
Specific information
► For connection to a CAM system, observe the operating instructions for the CAM system as well
as the safety instructions that they contain.
► Observe national regulations and permitted dust exposure levels in the working environment. Re-
fer to your national association for occupational safety and health or the responsible authority.
► Observe the safety data sheets when suctioning hazardous materials.
► Wear personal protective equipment when suctioning hazardous materials.
► Depending on the type of extracted material, wear appropriate personal protective equipment
when emptying the dust drawer or cleaning.
► When disposing of the extracted material or used filters, observe local provisions and accident
prevention regulations!
► Suctioning may only be performed with the dust drawer closed.
► Do not operate without a suction hose.
► Do not suction flammable, easily combustible, or explosive gases or fumes.
► The following applications are associated with increased risks and are therefore not permitted:
When cleaning milling chambers and SLM printing systems by suction, a sufficiently high con-
centration and purity (i.e., unmixed with other dental dusts such as plaster, resin) can result in
spontaneous combustion or the milling dust or printing powder exploding because of a potential
exothermic reaction (e.g., due to oxidation). An alternative cleaning method must be selected,
particularly for the following milling or printing media (e.g., manual cleaning):
• Wood
• Titanium / titanium-aluminum
• Light metals and light metal alloys (e.g., aluminum, magnesium)
• Cobalt-chrome powder (e.g., for use in SLM systems)
If large quantities of light metals such as titanium alloy are processed (e.g., with sandpaper), pro-
ducing very fine grinding dust, a sufficiently high concentration and purity may result in sponta-
neous combustion because of a potential exothermic reaction.
► Do not suction hot materials.
► Do not suction liquids.
► If the extraction unit is used to suction hazardous materials, appropriate personal protective
equipment must be worn, and steps must be taken to ensure that the exhaust air is properly venti-
lated. Refer to the safety data sheets for the corresponding requirements.
► Dispose of extracted material in accordance with statutory regulations.

Authorized persons
Operation and maintenance of the equipment may only be performed by trained personnel
Minors and pregnant persons may only operate and service the extraction unit if they are wearing appro-
priate protective equipment, in particular when suctioning hazardous materials
Any repairs not described in this user information may only be performed by a qualified electrician.
