be done easily by following the instructions given in this manual.
Refer to your Polini Motori dealer for scheduled services and

replace worn or broken components. Refer to the servicing tables
in sections 8.1 and 8.2 below for the frequency with which the
various service operations must be performed.
7.1 REMOVING AND ASSEMBLING THE FUEL TANK
Make sure that the fuel tap is in the "OFF" position (photo no.
6). Detach the petrol hose from the tap. Remove the M5 tank
fixing screw, and then simultaneously raise the tank and pull it
out in the direction of the front mudguard. To re-assemble the
tank, fit the tanks' two rear support feet under the saddle pres-
sing the tank against the expansion tank cap and tightening with
the screw and washer removed previously.
DANGER. Before removing the tank be sure no mixture or
inflammable liquids are left inside. During the operation do not
use fire.
WARNING! Before start using the bike again connect the
petrol tube to the cap.
7.2 REMOVING AND CLEANING THE AIR FILTER
Dirty air filters are one of the most common causes of poor
engine performance.
Proceed as follows to clean the air filter.
- Unscrew the four cross-slot screws on the rear mudguard and
loosen the filter clamp with a screwdriver and then remove the
filter.
- Wash the air filter in warm water with mild soap.
- After rinsing and wringing the filter, moisten it with oil for filters.
ENGLISH
WARNING! If the filter becomes clogged with fine dust as
well as normal dirt, replace it with a new one.
WARNING! Dirty air filters choke the engine and cause
poor performance. Torn or broken filters can allow dirt to enter
the engine and cause rapid deterioration of the piston rings,
piston and barrel.
7.3 REPLACEMENT OF THE CABLE-WINDING ROLLER
Disassemble the crankcase ignition side (photo no.9-10), then
pull the cable for almost all its stroke and remove the handle by
undoing the knot. While you are holding the cable in tension
(photo no. 11), unscrew the central crew; now let the driven
pulley slowly rotate till you release the spring.
WARNING! It is better to avoid the discharge of the spring
of its seat (photo no. 12).
Before reassembling all the parts, it is important to check that the
cable is not worn and in such a case replace it. To reassemble it
is necessary that the cable passes through the hole situated in the
centre of the driven pulley and lock it making a knot at the end.
Wind the cable round the pulley, then place the pulley in its seat
being careful that the clamp on the pulley had grip with the
spring coupler. Now you have to rotate the driven pulley in ACW
sense of about 2 turns and half; make the cable pass through
"guide hole" and the handle then do a knot at the end of the
