ASSEMBLY
BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY OPERATION ON ELECTRICAL PARTS, MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS NO VOLTAGE AT THE
HEADS OF THE CABLE COMPLETE WITH CONNECTOR.
AS A GENERAL RULE, ANY INTERVENTION ON THE ELECTRICAL PARTS OR ON THE MECHANICAL PARTS OF THE GROUP
OR SYSTEM MUST BE PRECEDED BY INTERRUPTION OF THE MAINS POWER SUPPLY.
1) Check the integrity of the female connector complete with power cable;
- 471028 - CTA12X2,5/1-255
- 471029 - CTA7X1,5/1-255
2) Remove the transparent nylon bag from the connector side end, being sure not to damage the component;
3) Check for the absence of yellow sheath burrs due to closing of the co-molding mold at the upper end of the
connector (see figures A-B). In case of burrs, contact Caprari Spa directly.
4) Check that the housing hole of the casing in which the male connector is assembled contains no waste or shavings;
5) Check that the machined surface of the casing on which the cable gland and the female connector abut has no waste, shavings or paint residues;
6) Lightly grease the parts of the connector highlighted in figures C-D-E with a brush smeared with CT 615 Orapi grease, being very careful not to
make the pin coupling holes dirty.
ATTENTION: the plastic tooth that can be seen on the sides of the female connector is NOT a reference for its assembly (see figure C).
Therefore it is not necessary to observe the positioning of the teeth when assembling the connector;
7) Insert the female connector into the housing hole on the casing, paying close attention to the orientation of the PINS with respect to the
male connector assembled on the machine. As a reference, observe the plastic pin of the male connector which must fit into the larger hole on
the front of the female connector. To help in this phase, it is advisable to create orientation references with a felt-tip pen, both on the casing and
on the connector (see figures F-G-H-I);
8) Fully engage the female connector body. With respect to the machined surface of the casing, the circular crown with a diameter of 47.7mm will be
raised by 1÷2mm (if it should remain raised by approximately 10mm, this means that the connector is incorrectly oriented, therefore gently re
move it and re-engage it) see figures L-M.
To safeguard the plastic reference pin, DO NOT under any circumstances rotate the female connector on itself to try to find the right coupling.
In case of accidental breakage of the male connector, this component must be replaced. It is therefore necessary to reopen the
motor casing (in this specific case in case of breakage at customers' premises, it is necessary to contact Caprari customer service for repair);
9) Approach the toroidal gasket to the upper part of the connector, sliding it on the power supply cable (in case of excessive "grip", lightly grease the
yellow sheath of the cable) (see figure N);
10) Place the metal washer next to the gasket, sliding it along the power supply cable (see figure O);
11) Lightly grease the external surface of the gasket with a brush smeared with Grease CT 615 Orapi (see figure P);
12) Insert the cable gland bell on the entire connector, orienting it so that the lower face is aligned with the shape of the
machined surface of the casing (see figures Q-R);
13) Push the cable gland as far as it will go. With respect to the machined surface of the casing it will remain raised by 5 to 10mm (see figure S);
14) Prepare the 2 M8X25 UNI5931-A2 tightening screws, placing the medium strength adhesive thread clamp on them in the area of the thread
Loxeal 55-03 (cod. 900213);
15) Assembling the clamping screws, tightening them alternately to make sure that the cable gland bell does not become stuck and that it sits
straight parallel to the machined surface of the casing (see figure T);
16) Fully tighten the cable gland bell on the entire machined surface of the casing;
Apply a tightening torque to the screw of 15Nm.
DISMANTLING
1) Completely clean the connector entry area and dry any liquids or humidity present;
2) Unscrew the tightening screws alternately to raise the cable gland straight above its housing
parallel to the machined surface of the casing;
3) While the cable gland is extracted, carefully clean the areas indicated in figure U;
4) Extract the connector from the casing housing hole being sure to pull the component gripping it by the cable gland
(do not stress or force directly on the yellow cable);
5) Carefully clean the female connector and the housing hole in which the male connector is present with rags and compressed air blows;
6) In case of replacement of the electric pump on a system or in the workshop:
- if the female connector is not immediately inserted into a new casing in which there is a male connector, protect the
termination by wrapping it in a clean and dry cloth, then insert everything in a plastic bag and tape the closure of the bag on the cable;
7) In case of replacement of the power supply cable:
- if a new female connector complete with power cable is not immediately inserted into the electric pump, protect the
male connection of the electric pump and house the electric pump in a protected and dry place.
