RECOMMENDATIONS
6.1. It is essential to read this use and maintenance manual in order to correctly carry out the pump transport, installation, start-up, use,
adjustment, assembly, dismantling and servicing operations.
6.2. This manual forms an integral part of the supplied product. The purchaser shall ensure that all staff who, for various reasons, may use or
service the product become fully familiar with the contents of this manual.
6.3. The electric pumps described in this manual are "not designed for domestic use" or similar. They must therefore be beyond the reach of
GB
children or inexpert persons.
6.4. The instructions in this manual apply to the "standard" version of the electric pump. Similar electric pumps supplied "according to
requirements" (check for the job N° on the electric pump data plate) may or may not fully comply with the instructions herein.
6.5. The pump supplier shall not be held responsible for any damages to persons, animals or property caused by failure to strictly comply with all
the instructions in this manual.
6. 6. The supplementary data plates supplied with the electric pump must be kept together with this use and maintenance manual in the vicinity of
the electrical equipment so that they can be quickly and easily consulted.
6.7. For safety reasons and to ensure compliance with the warranty conditions, the purchaser shall be forbidden to use the pump should this
become faulty or in the event of a sudden variation in the performances of the pump itself.
6.8. The purchaser shall be responsible for installing alarm systems, arranging for inspections and servicing operations able to prevent any form
of risk caused by electric pump malfunction.
6.9. Contact Caprari SpA or one of their authorized After- Sales Service Centers for any further information that may be required.
6.10. If the power supply cable breaks, immediately ask for a genuine Caprari spare specifying the code and serial numbers of the electric pump
and the type of cable required (auxiliary or power supply) in your request.
6.11. Apart from checking the rotation direction as described in paragraph 18, never ever connect the electric pump to the electricity main until the
pump it self has been installed in its system.
7.
7.1.
These electric pumps have been built in compliance with EN1127-1, EN80079-36, EN80079-37, EN60079-0, EN60079-1; standards.
Before installing the machine, check that the flameproofing characteristics coded on the pump data plate conforms to the provisions
in force in the place of installation.
7.2.
Only authorized Caprari workshop staff may modify the cable clamps or open the motor casing.
7.3.
The operative characteristics of these machines must comply with the features indicated on the data plate and in the enclosed EX
certificate.
7.4.
The minimum head is at the top of the electric motor for machines operating without cooling jackets. The minimum head height is
above the pump casing for electric pumps equipped with cooling jackets, (please always check NPSH).
7.5.
It is essential to connect the termic probes to the control unit of the electric pump. Thermic probe activation must cut-out the pump
power source. Reset must not be automatic but must only occur after inspection by qualified personnel.
If the motor is equipped with PTC probes, read the manual for information on installation.
7.6.
Users are forbidden to modify the machines or replace parts of the electric motors. Only hydraulic components can be replaced
(numbered L1 to L14 in the pertinent Section) with genuine spares (same code or same serial number as the one on the part itself)
following normal wear due to operation. Operations other than routine maintenance work may only be carried out by Caprari SpA.
The class of screws used to assemble the flameproof casing must be A2-70 ISO 3506-1.
7.7.
The optional use of the conductivity sensor is conditioned on the use of a control device installed in the control panel and compliant
with potentially explosive environment requirements.
7.8.
The following poor functioning can be possible primer causes for explosion; consequently it is necessary to operate all possible
actions to avoid them:
- dry running of the pump or 0/Q capacity: foresee a pressure and/or capacity probe directly connected to the control panel with
direct intervention on the panel and manual reset in order to avoid operation of the electric pump in these conditions;
- pump shaft bearing failure: in the event of an increase in vibrations and/or of operating noise, stop
the pump and send it to one of the authorised Caprari workshops.
