when the pressure is released, i.e. when the cylinder
valve is opened. Both gases are heavier than air and
any leakage would tend to stabilise on the bottom. In
addition, they have a strong, unpleasant odour which
makes it possible to identify leakages easily. The gas
is highly flammable and a small amount in air may
form an explosive mixture. The cylinders must be
used and kept in vertical position at all times, with the
valve facing upwards.
ATTENTION
• It is good practice to empty the water system and
leave the water taps open during the winter months.
Leave the safety discharge valve and all discharge
taps open. This avoids damage through freezing of
the water system.
• Water left inside the clean water tank can not be
considered drinkable even after a relatively short
period. It is good practice to flush the piping and
water tank with potable water before each use of your
motorhome. It is advised that the water tank always
be emptied
ATTENTION
• To avoid accidents, carefully read the following
essential advice before using gas appliances or
changing the gas cylinders:
• Always read and follow the instructions for use
and maintenance provided by the gas appliance
manufacturers. If soot is observed on pans, hob etc.
or if any odour is noted, consult a skilled installer for
correct maintenance and adjustment of the burners.
• Never check gas leakages using a naked flame.
• Always close the main valve of the cylinders when
the gas system is not in use.
• Do not use gas appliances without adequate
ventilation. All gas appliances require ample fresh
air for correct operation. Gas appliances must not
be obstructed by fixed fans or air vents. If possible,
switch off all the electrical appliances and the gas
system before going to sleep.
• Make sure that the gas line is blocked if an appliance
is disconnected for repairs, maintenance, etc.
• Call a skilled installer if the valves are stiff or if you
suspect they are leaking. The LPG valves require a
special grease.
• When in doubt, always seek advice.
