BEFORE STARTING YOUR
JOURNEY
CHECKS BEFORE SETTING OFF
MOTOR
Check the level of all the liquids specified in the vehicle's User
and Maintenance manual.
BRAKES
Check the brake fluid level as outlined in the manufacturer's User
and Maintenance manual.
TYRES
Before setting off, check the tyre pressure (this is shown in the
User and Maintenance manual of the vehicle; use the pressure
values given for a full load). A tyre pressure check is particularly
important if the vehicle is at full load because an insufficient
pressure can cause the tyres to burst and the driver to lose
control of the motorhome. It is advisable to check tyre condition
after the first 1000 km and regularly afterwards.
LIGHTS
Check that all exterior lights work properly.
BATTERIES
Check that the engine and auxiliary batteries are charged. If the
control panel indicates insufficient voltage, recharge the batteries
fully before setting off.
INSTALLED EQUIPMENT
Check that the fridge, heating, boiler and electrical system are
functioning properly after any period of inactivity.
GAS SYSTEM
• Cylinders must be secured vertically in the locker provided.
• Close the gas valves.
• Close the red taps on the gas distribution unit located inside
the kitchen cupboard.
EXTERNAL CHECKS
• Storage lockers are locked by key.
• Ensure that you have rolled up the external awning, if present.
• Before setting off, close the skylight dome and open the
flyscreens and blackout blind.
• On sunny days, keep the skylight dome open. Only use the
blind and flyscreen to make shade, but don't close the blind
completely. Instead, close the flyscreen 1/3 and the blind the
other 2/3. This will prevent heat from getting trapped and
causing damage to the dome and frame.
• Check that all items on the luggage rack are stored securely.
• Check that there are no objects under the vehicle causing an
obstruction to its movement.
• Ensure that you have retracted the TV aerial, if present.
• Disconnect the external 230V power supply cable.
INTERNAL CHECKS
• The entrance door must be locked.
