2 Safety Instructions
2.1 Intended Use
Maxicaps MR is a system for filtering water-based liquids and carrying out

filter integrity tests. The system comprises a multi-use components trolley,
handles and valve actuators, and a single-use filter unit. The single-use filter
unit must be suitable for the system (for permissible filter units, see Chap-
ter 12.9, page 44):
The following processes are not permitted to be carried out with the system:
— Filtration processes using biological materials in Risk Class 3 or 4 (ac-
cording to EU article 2000/54/EC)
— Filtration processes with hazardous substances pursuant to the German
Hazardous Substances Ordinance [GefStoffV]
The system is intended solely for use in accordance with these instructions.
Any other use is considered improper.
Foreseeable Misuse
The following applications are not permitted:
— Use for other processes that are not explicitly approved
— Use as a climbing aid
— Use of the single-use filter unit as a setup surface
— Use of the trolley as a transport vehicle
— Use of the system for gas filtration (exception: filter integrity test)
Operating Conditions for the System
Do not use the system in potentially explosive environments. Only use the
system indoors.
The system may only be used with the equipment and under the operating
conditions described in the Technical Data section of these instructions.
2.1.1 Modifications to the System
If the system is modified: Persons may be put at risk. System-specific docu-
ments and product approvals may lose their validity.
