09 Û MAINTENANCE
If the device is not used for prolonged time,
observe the following recommendations:
1 Run a complete cleaning cycle on the
irrigation circuit with the FLUSH function

(see Chapter 06 - FLUSH FUNCTION);
2 Empty the water circuits by disconnecting
the bottle and by letting the handpiece
function for some seconds;
3 Disconnect the device from the electrical
network;
4 If the period of disuse is prolonged, put the
device back in its original package and store
it in a safe place;
09.1 Û REPLACEMENT OF THE PERISTALTIC PUMP
The peristaltic pump on the back of the
device is protected by a plastic cover. This
cover can be removed by pressing its sides
and pulling them backwards;
CAUTION: Before doing any kind of
operation on the peristaltic pump, make
sure that the device is disconnected from
the power outlet and that the liquid
container is not connected.
Disconnect the two silicon tubings of the
peristaltic pump from their respective
couplings, which are positioned beneath the
pump;

5 Prior to using the device again, clean and
sterilize the handpiece, the inserts and
the wrench following the instructions
provided in the Chapter 08 - CLEANING AND
STERILIZATION;
6 Check that the inserts are not worn out,
deformed, or broken, placing special
attention to the integrity of their tip.
WARNING: Periodically check that
the electrical power cable is intact; if it
is damaged, replace it with an original
Mectron spare part.
