6.2.1 Interventions and Relevant Frequency
The most significant and important operations relative to ordinary maintenance can be thus summarized:
Weekly check that the evaporator is clean, especially that there is no ice accumulation. In situations of obstruction of the
evaporator with ice, perform a manual defrosting, in accordance to the modes reported in the management software
manual present in Chapter 9 – Attachments. Repeat the procedure until the evaporator is completely clean. Check after 12
hours.
Periodically clean (at least every month) the condenser, removing dust or grease. If the environment in which the unit is
installed is very dusty, it may be necessary to clean it more often.
Every four months, clean the fixed and mobile contacts of all the contactors, replacing them if they display signs of
deterioration.
Every four months, check the fastening of all the electrical terminals, both inside the panels, and the terminals of every
electrical appliance; carefully check the fastening of the fuse elements.
Visually control the entire refrigerant circuit, also inside the machines, to search for refrigerant losses, that are hinted by
traces of lubricating oil. Promptly intervene and inspect further in case of doubt. Control of refrigerant gas leaks:
for systems with 3 kg ≤ refrigerant load < 30 kg, the control must be performed yearly;
for systems with 30 kg ≤ refrigerant load < 300 kg, the control must be performed each semester;
for systems with refrigerant load ≥ 300 kg, the control must be performed quarterly.
For losses that require an integration of refrigerant > than 10% of the total load of gas, the repair of such loss must be
performed within 30 days from the discovery of the malfunction.
Every four months, check the regular flow of refrigerant on the indicator light present on the liquid line.
Every four months, check the oil level through the specific indicator light (where present) placed on the housing of the
compressor.
Every four months, carefully examine through the glass of the indicator light of the passage on the liquid line, the color of the
element sensitive to humidity. A green color indicates dry conditions, the yellow color indicates humid conditions. In case
humid conditions are indicated, proceed to immediately stop the machine and substitute the liquid filter, replacing the
refrigerant and oil load. Repeat the control after 3 days of functioning.
Every four months, check the noise level of the compressor. This operation must be performed with caution, because it
requires that the system be on; check for the presence of clicking sounds or vibrations, which can be a symptom of
breakages, or of excessive mechanical "play" between the moving parts.
Every week, check the cleaning level of the tank located below the evaporator. If need be, dismantle the fixed guard and
clean the tank, using a cloth and non-aggressive, non-flammable or dangerous products.
Regularly check that the water discharge isn't clogged.
Regularly check the cleaning level of the float capable of indicating the water level in the tank. Especially after a long period
of disuse, limestone could have formed on the float, which needs to be eliminated.
Every six months, check the condition of deterioration of the pressure switch, of the relay installed on it, and of the safety
thermostat for the finned resistances of the heat exchanger. If need be, proceed to their replacement.
Every month, check the cleaning level of the water filter.
WARNING:
6.3 Out of service, dismantling and demolition
To perform these dismantling and demolition operations, the following Individual Protection Devices are necessary:
6.3.1 Machine placed out of service
To place a machine out of service for a long period, follow the operations below:
1.
Remove machine voltage.
the manufacturer declines all responsibility for any damage to property and/or persons deriving from
incorrect or incomplete maintenance.
before conducting any planned ordinary maintenance interventions, ensure the machine is sectioned
from the power supply; also wait for any hot surfaces to cool.
in case of replacement of machine components, they must be replaced with identical and
original components.
Any brazing measures taken on a risk category PED ≥ 1 product, must be performed by qualified
personnel.
at the end of every maintenance or cleaning intervention, reposition all the fixed guards.
