Never operate the saw
WARNING
without a kerf insert
installed. The plastic kerf insert is not a
universal part among miter saws. If the kerf
insert is worn, ask an Authorized FLEX Service
Station for a replacement part to help to ensure
personal safety.
The kerf inserts should be adjusted close to the
blade, but without touching the blade, to avoid
tear-out on the bottom of the workpiece.
a. Remove the battery pack.
MITER LOCK TENSION ADJUSTMENT
The miter lock lever tension has been set at the
factory. If after extensive use of the tool, it is
hard to push the miter arm, tension adjustment
may be required.
a. Remove the battery pack.
b. Loosen the kerf screws and remove the kerf
inserts.
c. Adjust the miter lock tension nut using
a 18mm socket wrench (not included). If
resistance is too low, slightly tighten the nut.
If resistance is too high, slightly loosen the
nut.
d. Move the miter arm to left or right and check
the tension again.
CHECKING 0° BEVEL STOP SETTING
a. Remove the battery pack.
b. Hold the saw head assembly down and push
in the head assembly lock pin to keep the
saw in the DOWN position.
c. Loosen the slide-rail lock knob, slide the
head assembly completely to the back and
tighten the slide-rail lock knob securely.
d. Unlock the bevel-lock lever and tilt the head
assembly to the left and right until it hits the
stop in the vertical position – this is where the
saw is currently set to make a 0° cut. Lock
the bevel-lock lever.
e. Pull the head assembly all the way down
and engage the lock pin to hold the head
assembly in the transport position.

c. Loosen the six kerf screws securing the kerf
insert with the supplied Allen key.
d. Adjust the kerf inserts as close to the blade
(teeth) as possible without touching the
blade.
e. Tighten the screws.
NOTICE: At extreme bevel angles, the saw
blade may slightly cut into kerf insert.
