Preparation for installing the unit
Integrated residual current device
These units inject differential current into the electricity grid. The amplitude of the current depends mostly on the
stray capacity of the PV array to ground. The differential current in permanent status allowed by safety regulation
IEC 62109 is:

If the applicable regulations of the country require a residual current device between the inverter and the electricity
grid, this must be greater than:

The residual current protection integrated in the unit does not detect residual currents produced upstream of the
inverter. If a residual current device is installed upstream of the inverter or inverters, it must:
• Have an assigned trip residual current of at least the sum of the residual currents of the units connected
downstream.
• Be of type B.
Any residual current device connected upstream of three units must be type B and have an assigned residual
current of at least:

5.5. Type of grid
These units can be connected to type TT and TN three-phase grids.
5.6. Cabling length
The inverter measures the voltage in its connection terminals. For this reason, the installer must use an AC cable
with a sufficiently low impedance so that increasing the voltage in the cable (between the distribution transformers
and the unit) does not cause the unit to be disconnected due to high voltage.
5.7. Photovoltaic panels
The photovoltaic panels of the installation must be Class A (IEC 61730). These units do not allow photovoltaic
panel grounding, therefore the positive and negative pole of the PV array must not be connected to ground.
Otherwise the inverter will give an insulation fault.
However, the metal structure to which the photovoltaic panels are attached and/or the metal frame of the panel can
be connected to ground.
5.8. External disconnection device
The DC and AC supply must be shut off for equipment inspection work. To do this, the installer must fit an external
disconnection device.
