Installation and operation
CAUTION
Do not operate this pump
without personal protective
equipment. Pump can gen-
erate noise levels above
85 dBa that could result in hearing loss.
Failure to comply could result in per-
sonal injury.
WARNING
Do not exceed lowest pressure rating of
any component in system.
Failure to comply may result in
serious injury or death.
WARNING
Do not operate pump with broken,
missing or defective parts.
Replace defective parts prior to
operation.
Failure to comply may result in
serious injury or death.
WARNING
Do not operate with leakage in system.
Disconnect air to motor.
Failure to comply may results in
serious injury.
Bench test and
operation
Initial prime
1 Place pump in fluid to be dispensed.
2 Connect a product hose to fluid outlet.
Direct hose into an appropriate collection
container.
3 Apply threadlocker to connector (2)
and screw into inlet of air motor.
Tighten connector securely.
4 Install air coupler (3) onto air supply line.
5 Make sure air pressure at regulator
reads zero.
6 Connect air coupler to connector.
7 Slowly supply air pressure to pump
motor.
8 Allow pump to cycle slowly until fluid is
free of air.
If pump does not prime, refer to
Troubleshooting (page 14) for details.
Starting pressure
9 Set air pressure to 25 psi (1.7 bar).
10 Insert adjusting bar through slot in air
motor's tube and into a hole of packing
screw (6) († Fig. 4, page 13)
11 Adjust packing screw until pump stops.
12 Loosen packing screw until pump begins
to cycle.
12
Leakage and stall
WARNING
Do not operate air motor that leaks.
Disconnect air from motor.
Failure to comply may result in death
or serious injury.
With air pressure at zero:
13 Attach a control valve to outlet hose of
pump. Make sure nozzle on control valve
is open.
14 Slowly supply air pressure to pump
motor.
15 Allow pump to cycle slowly until fluid is
once again free of air.
16 Set air pressure to normal operating
pressure.
17 Operate control valve into a container.
18 Shut off control valve.
19 Visually inspect pump for external leaks.
Pump should not cycle more than once or
twice in one hour. If pump leaks or does not
stall, refer to Troubleshooting (page 14) for
details.
Air leakage
Check motor for air leaks. If motor leaks,
refer to manual 670752 for details.
