7. General Information about Electric Fences
IMPORTANT:
Animals must be taught to respect electric fences!
If an animal has never experienced an electric fence, it cannot respect it. This can lead
to dangerous situations for example when young animals are taken out for the first time
into a field fenced by a thin wire. The animal could get trapped in the fence when trying
to break out. Electric fences must be inspected regularly because an animal caught in
the fence can suffer fatal injuries.
Use a low pulse interval to start with so that the animal learns to respect the fence.
After that the pulse interval can generally be increased.
Make sure the fence is sufficiently earthed. Most malfunctions are the result of
insufficient earthing.
When connecting electric fence energisers, never use a normal electrical installation
cable or low voltage cable that is usually insulated up to 700 volts or less. Always use a
WZG high voltage cable that is designed for a voltage of 20,000 volts.
Check the condition of the electric fence regularly with a fence voltage tester. Check
the fence for weak points requiring repair as well as poor wire connections and
insufficient earthing. Keep grass and plants close to the fence as short as possible.
8. WZG SG 3- Technical Data & Functions
LED lamp flashes once during every pulse.
If the battery voltage drops below 3.1 V, the LED lamp starts flashing faster
with a weaker light. This means that the batteries need to be changed.
The pulse density can be controlled by turning the ON /OFF knob.
