Operation
Trained specialist for mechanical work.
Hearing protection, safety glasses, protective gloves, safety shoes
DANGER
Damaged or non-operational safety devices
Risk of fatal accident or serious injuries.
»
Do not use the unit with damaged, non-operational or bypassed safety devices.
»
Before using the unit, check the safety devices for correct operation.
»
Before using the unit, check it for obvious damage.
»
If it is damaged, switch it off immediately, secure it against being switched back
on inadvertently, and inform the responsible office.
CAUTION
Strong vibrations
Crush hazard for the body and individual limbs due to the surface finishing machine
unintentionally rolling away.
»
Apply the parking brakes before starting the surface finishing machine.

EXCHANGING THE SIEVE
B
i
Select the appropriate sieve for the size of workpiece and size of abrasive chips.
1. Undo the lock nut and screws, pull the sieve out.
2. Push the new sieve in as far as the stop.
»
The abrasive chips must be able to fall through the grid.
3. Tighten the four screws and lock nuts.
6.2.
PREPARATIVE WORK
E
ü Using the parking brakes to lock the castors.
ü Main switch set to "ON".
ü Cover at the outlet from the trough on the separation unit closed.
1. Unlock the door for access to the water tank.
2. Using a measuring beaker, measure out the required quantity of compound and
pour it into the left unit of the water tank.
3. Pour approx 45 litres clean water into the left unit of the water tank.
»
The compound will mix with the water that was poured in.
4. Push the water tank into the surface finishing machine and lock the door.
5. The following modifications to the trough may be performed to suit the charac-
teristics, quantity and size of the workpieces:
Trough modification
Full trough without dividing wall
Left-hand chamber of the trough, parti-
tioned off by a plastic dividing wall
Left-hand chamber of the trough, parti-
tioned off by an aluminium dividing wall
1. Depending on the application, select appropriate abrasive chips and fill the left
hand chamber or the entire trough. Maintain a maximum filling level 3 cm below
the water outlet.
2. Use the setting on the screen to check the water delivery (pump ON/OFF).
6.3.
WORKPIECE PROCESSING
F
Function to be tested
The trough should vibrate.
The vibrations in the trough should be-
come stronger.
Water will be delivered from the circula-
tion tank by two nozzles.
The delivery of water will stop.
Workpiece characteristic
Large workpieces which require the full
extent of the trough so they can be pro-
cessed without tilting.
High-gloss workpieces and delicate work-
pieces. If the plastic dividing wall is being
used, both chambers of the troughs must
be filled with abrasive chips.
Small workpieces which can be pro-
cessed without tilting in a single cham-
ber. If an aluminium dividing wall is used,
fill either the left-hand chamber or both
chambers.
i
Fill the trough only 1/3 full with workpieces.
1. Select the desired mode on the screen, and make the relevant settings in the
Software [} Page 23].
2. Press
to start the motor.
»
The trough will start rotation of the abrasive chips.
3. Add the workpieces to be processed into the trough one after another.
4. Set the desired motor speed.
CAUTION! Laceration hazard. Filling the chamber with workpieces can lead
to lacerations. Wear protective gloves when filling the chamber.
5. Pause the motor.
6. Fit the trough cover and lock it.
7. Close the noise-absorption hood and lock it.
8. Start the motor again.
9. On expiry of the processing time the motor will stop automatically.
6.4.
CONCLUDING WORK
G
ü Transport trolley with transport boxes positioned under the separation unit.
ü Sieve appropriate to the size of workpiece and size of abrasive chips mounted.
1. Open the noise-absorption hood and the trough cover.
2. Open the cover of the separation unit.
3. Open the side cover of the outlet from the trough and remove it.
CAUTION! Damage to hearing. Loud noise is generated when the abrasive
chips and workpieces are being removed through the outlet opening. Wear
hearing protection
4. Use the display screen to start the sieve process.
»
The motor will impart vibration. The abrasive chips and workpieces are re-
moved from the trough via the outlet.
»
The abrasive chips are sieved into the front container of the transport trolley.
Workpieces are sieved into the rear container.
5. To speed up the separation process, increase the speed of the motor.
6. One the trough is completely empty the sieving process can be ended.
