When the measurements of the conventional vibration device are performed in traditional vibration data
collection points (suggested by ISO 10816-3), some variation is expected when compared to the values
measured by the WEG Motor Scan in its standard mounting point. Those values may be higher, similar or lower
than those measured by the WEG Motor Scan, depending on the motor condition and reference place for
comparison. Such variation is expected, and it is not a problem, as the WEG Motor Scan is intended to monitor
the evolution of the vibration levels. Due to those characteristics, it is recommended to set the alert and critical
levels of the WEG Motor Scan so as to adapt to the values measured by the conventional device. Figure 5.7
illustrates such condition.
