5.2 Installing the Adapter Plate

The adapter plate for connecting the vacuum pump is installed between the prosthetic socket and
the distal components of the modular prosthesis. It is mounted together with the socket adapter.
The adapter plate has two connectors for generating a vacuum in the socket and one connector
for connecting to the vacuum pump. The adapter plate is additionally equipped with a PE sinter
filter to protect the vacuum pump against dirt, and a non-return valve that maintains the vacuum
when the pump is disconnected.
CAUTION
Using a wrong prosthetic socket
Contusions and pressure sores due to wrong socket fit
Use the vacuum pump only in combination with a prosthetic socket made with Harmony
technology.

5.2.1 Preparing the Adapter Plate

A vacuum can be generated in the socket either via the proximal or the lateral connector of the
adapter plate.
