Before beginning operation of your new Electra, select a flat, stable surface within 7 feet (2.13m) of
a power source for the location. To prepare for operation, load the tape and prepare the moistening
system. Next, depending upon the type of tape you are using, make adjustments to the water level
and the pressure pad position. Finally, if it is necessary adjustments can be made to the measuring
wheel, the cutter blades, and the water temperature. (Details about these adjustments can be found
in the maintenance section.)
To load the tape in the Electra, refer to Figure 3 and follow the instructions below:
1. Remove the cover plate by lifting up on the back end.
2. Place the roll of tape in the receptacle so that the tape will unroll toward you with the adhesive
side down. Cut the tape with a knife or scissors to have a clean leading edge to feed through the
machine.
3. Adjust the tape receptacle using the thumb screw to center the roll of tape. Note: Sides of
receptacle should be close to roll of tape, while still allowing tape to roll freely.
