Before the patient starts inhaling, ensure that all parts are
firmly connected to each other. Make sure that the con-
nection tubing is fitted securely on the air outlet on the

Always hold the nebuliser upright during inhalation.
Inhalation for the lower respiratory tract
Inhalation with the mouthpiece is the most effective form of inha-
lation for the lower respiratory tract, since it results in minimum
medication loss on the way to the lung. The child mask is only
recommended for children if they are unable to inhale using the
mouthpiece. When a mask is used, the patient must always
breathe in through the mouth during the session.
