4.6 ROW MARKER DISK ADJUSTMENT

The row marker is a machine that traces a reference line parallel
to the tracks of the tractor on the ground.
Once the tractor has completed its run and it has turned around,
follow the reference row with one of the front wheels (L1, Fig. 70)
or with the centre of the tractor (L2, Fig. 70). The row marker arms
reverse themselves independently and this reversal is actuate
by the comand of the oildynamic distributors of the tractor. When
the system is not in use, protect the quick coupling with its cap.
ATTENTION
Before operating the hydraulic system of the row marker, apply
light pressure with your hand on the row marker arm in the
direction of the arrow (Fig. 71), unhook the safety devices on
both the arms (A Fig. 71), and then position them as shown in
Figure 72. For travel on the road, lock the row marker arms in
a vertical position with the safety devices (A Fig. 71).
The row marker arms have a safety bolt (A Fig. 73) so that the
planter unit structure will not be damaged. If they happen to
bump into an obstacle, this bolt will break and so the row marker
arm will rotate to leave the equipment structure intact.
System regulation:
The hydraulic systems provided come equipped with one-way
flow regulators (Fig. 69) which allow for the regulation of the
quantity of oil during opening or closing, depending on how the
regulators have been installed:
Flow from A to B, free (Fig. 69);
Flow from B to A, choked (regulated) (Fig. 69).
o regulate, loosen the lock nut (1) and turn the knob (2). Once this
adjustment has been made, re-tighten the lock nut.
Make sure that the result of this adjustment does not cause
the rising or descent speed to damage the structure itself.
Never exceed the maximum admissible pressure for the
hydraulic system.

4.6.1 ROW MARKING ARM LENGTH

See Fig. 70 and observe the following rules for correct row market
arm adjustment:
reference: of the front wheel
L = D (N +1) - C
2
where:
L= the distance between the outer-most element and the row
marker
D= the distance between the rows
N= the number of elements working
C= the tractor's front wheelbase.
Example: D= 13 cm (inch. 5); N= 23 elements; C= 150 cm (inch.59).
reference: of the front wheel
L=13 (23+1)-150= 81 cm
2
For normal soils the correct working position of the disc is that
shown in Fig. 74 ref. A; for strong soils turn it over as shown in ref.
B Fig. 74.
