Removing the Lock-Rite foot section

WARNING
Do not use the foot section locking bar as a grasping bar or other patient assist device.
CAUTION
The maximum safe working load of the foot section is 300 lb.
Note: Before removing the foot section, put the footrests into position above the foot section and place the patient's feet
in the footrests (see
To remove the foot section:
1.
Walk into the curved end of the foot section.
2.
Squeeze the foot section release handle (B) into the foot section locking bar (A)
raise both bars up until they latch into the full up position
3.
Release the foot section release handle
4.
While holding the foot section locking bar, leverage the foot section against your torso and slowly walk the foot
section away from the Birthing Bed
Note: If the foot section is placed with the perineal edge on the floor, it will stand independently

Attaching the Lock-Rite foot section
To attach the foot section:
1.
If the footrests are abducted, return them to their original positions
2.
Grasp the foot section locking bar and hold the foot section against your torso.
3.
Place the foot section on top of the abduction arms
4.
While squeezing both the foot section release handle (B) and the foot section locking bar (A)
1-29), leverage the foot section against your torso and slowly walk the foot section into the Birthing Bed
on page
1-29).
5.
To lock the foot section onto the Birthing Bed, squeeze and lower both the foot section release handle and foot
section locking bar into the locked position
the foot section and the Birthing Bed will narrow.
Note: You can only lower the foot section locking bar when the foot section is in the "locking zone", which is located
approximately 2 in. from the head end mattress.
