4.3 — Checking Engine Oil Level
WARNING
Risk of burns. Allow engine to cool before draining
oil or coolant. Failure to do so could result in death
or serious injury.
CAUTION
Avoid prolonged or repeated skin contact with used
motor oil.
CAUTION
Engine damage. Verify proper type and quantity of
engine oil prior to starting engine. Failure to do so
could result in engine damage.
When power outages necessitate running the generator
for extended periods, the oil level should be checked
daily. To check the engine oil level:

If the generator is running during a utility outage,

first turn OFF all associated loads running in the
residence using the electrical panel main discon-
nect. Then, turn the generator main circuit breaker
to the OFF position.

Remove the dipstick and wipe it dry with a clean

Completely insert the dipstick and again remove it.

Observe the oil level. The level should be at the

"FULL" mark on the dipstick.
If necessary, remove the oil fill cap and add oil to

tion. Then, turn ON the needed loads in the resi-

4.3.1— Engine Oil Recommendations
To maintain the warranty, genuine Generac replacement
parts MUST be used, including Generac Preventative
Maintenance Kits (which include Generac oil, an oil and
air filter, spark plugs, a shop towel and funnel). Generac
